"I don't know what to say to make it better Tant," Razzy replied softly, "I kind of forgot about Grizabella until she came back just now. They were all happy when she was gone, because she hurt her sons. It took her sons a long while to move on from that."

Old Deuteronomy stood not thirty feet from the Junkyard. And because of that, he was confused. Here, he was thirty feet from the Junkyard, and there was no Munkustrap here to collect him. Not even Skimble or Alonzo either. There was no familar call of "Old Deuteronomy?" or "I believe it is Old Deuteronomy!" and no sound of joyous Jellicles singing or rejoicing. Here it was, the night of the Jellicle Ball with the Ball itself in full swing but for all intensive purposes, it seemed like there was no one around. Yet, he sensed Jellicle presences nearby. Unfortunatly, Old D was getting rather old and frail and he could not walk by himself the next thirty feet of rocky ground, so he stayed put and waited, hoping someone would come to collect him.
Jemima sat near Grizabella, completely miserable. The Junkyard was in turmoil and on a Ball night! Cori was mad at Tant, Tugger was mad at her and spending all of his time with Etcy and Griz was seemingly dying! And she was just a kitten and could do nothing about it. Suddenly, Jemi felt a familiar tingle shoot through her body that made her look up. Well of all things! Could it be really? Yes, the tingle was definately there. But... no... Misto hadn't said anything... But he looked a little preoccupied. The tingling feeling got stronger and Jem scrambled to her feet, scaling the nearest junk pile. She stood at the top, feet apart, figure silohetted by the Jellicle Moon and scanned the horizon. Oh my eye! she thought. He's here! In her loudest voice, she trumpeted the announcement that all the others were too distracted to do - "I believe it is Old Deuteronomy!"

Skimbleshanks didn't like what was going on, but he wished he knew what to do to help everyone out here. He sighed, but when he felt a familliar tingle, he knew that he could be of help. Old Deuteronomy was coming, and at a bad time. Maybe Old Deut could help them all out. Skimble didn't like a tribe divided. He sang in his strongest tenor voice the chorus of Old Deuteronomy, hoping everyone would join in.
Misto stood side by side with Tugger. He wanted to be supportive of his best friend, even though Tantomile was supporting Grizabella. He still didn't do anything to help Griz, and his heart was telling him to go and help Griz. He knew it was the right thing to do, but no, this time, he just couldn't do it. He hated all the fighting that was going on in the Junkyard, and he felt Old Deuteronomy coming. He had always fetched Old Deut, but this year, he was preoccupied because of Griz. He stood by Tugger. "Tugger, are you going to sing this year with Munkustrap?" He asked his friend. Misto could scence that Razzy was talking to Tantomile. "She would be talking to Tantomile," he said to himself.
Grizabella really wanted to stand up and sing with whoever was singing at the moment, but she was still too sick to sing, and she couldn't get up. Tantomile had gone into the shaddows, and Griz needed someone to help her get up. She wanted to greet her Brother, Old Deuteronomy. She missed him, and old Gus, her other Brother so much, and was hoping to see him as well. She started coughing again, really bad. She tried really slowly to get up. She knew she couldn't sing, but she wanted to greet Old Deuteronomy standing on her own two feet. Griz pulled herself off the mattress, and up to the Tire. She could feel Skimble and Misto looking at her, watching her, and they were. Misto didn't dare go to help Griz up. He knew that she was trying, and not having any such luck getting up.Part of him wanted to help her, but he didn't want to lose Tugger's friendship. So he stayed back, standing with Tugger. Grizabella was trying to get up, and when she got halfway up, she tried to put weight on her right foot to pull herself up the rest of the way up, but fell back down. She hurt herself again by trying to pull herself up. She was too weak to do so. She tried to get up again, but again, she fell back down. She was coughing and wheezing very bad too. She could feel all eyes on her. She looked over at Misto, and he chuckled at her for falling. Skimble also chuckled the first time she fell, but the 2nd time, he knew that she couldn't get up by herself, and was hurting herself even worse by trying to get up. He felt bad for the older Queen. He hoped that she could get up on the third try, but when she tried again, she fell down again, and she was coughing really bad, and breathing funny. "Will no one help me?" She cried out.
Tantomile wanted to go back into the yard. She told Razzy that she was alright, and asked her to join her. As they appeared into the Yard again, Tantomile watched for a few minutes. She looked around, and found Grizabella trying to get up, and falling, and reinjuring her foot even more. She could see all the cats that was there looking at Grizabella, and Misto chuckling, and Skimble chuckling. No one was helping her, and she heard Grizabella coughing. No one was helping Griz, and this made Tantomile a little sad that no one helped the older cat. As Griz got up the 4th time, Tant ran to Griz's side, and gently touched her, letting her know that it was her, Tantomile, helping her up. Tantomile gently helped Grizabella up to her feet.

OOC: I will be NPCing Jellylorum until someone asks for her perminently.
[glow=green,2,300]Jellylorum was watching all the action from the front of her den. She scenced that Old Deuteronomy was coming, and went outside. She saw Grizabella, and was keeping an eye on her. Jelly noticed that Grizabella was hurt. She knew in her heart that she should help the older Queen, and felt bad for her, but she remembered Griz walking out on the Tribe, and she didn't want to help. Not yet. She heard Grizabella coughing, and knew that Griz needed medical attention. She also watched Tantomile, and watched Tant give her the medicine that she had. "Tant can do everything Griz needs her to do. She was taught by me and Jennyanydots. I'm sure if she needs me, she'll call me." Jelly and Griz were really very close friends before Griz left the Yard, but their relationship changed when Griz left. Griz and Jelly were like sisters, and when Griz left, Jelly felt a void, like she was missing something. She knew that Grizabella was very sick, and needed all of her fellow Jellicles' to help her get well, but right now, Griz only had Tantomile. "Why did she come back?" Jelly asked herself. She knew the answer to that. When Griz was trying to get up, and falling down, and coughing, and wheezing, Jelly knew that Griz wanted love and afficition, and needed everyone's support, but she also knew that she, along with the other Jellicles banned her from the Yard. But she just couldn't bring herself to help Griz. She felt bad for Griz, but right now, she wouldn't go and help her.[/glow]
Tantomile gently turned Grizabella around, and sat her on the tire. She then checked Griz's foot again. She felt all around her foot and ancle to see if there was anything broken. Griz winced out in real bad pain. There was definately something wrong. Her foot was broken. She had a small fracture in her ancle, and another one on the right side of her foot, down near where her pinky toe is. Tant asked Griz to put weight on her right foot. Griz did so, and collappsed into Tant's arms. "I can't put any weight on my foot," said Griz. Tant sat Griz down again, and knew she needed help. She wished that there was someone else there that would help her. Griz started coughing again, really bad. Tant quickly went back to her den and got some more medical supplies so she could wrap Griz's foot better, and returned. She quickly wrapped Griz's foot, and taped it. Then she noticed that Griz was shaking and shivvering again, like she was really cold. She sat along side of Griz, holding Griz into her arms, trying to keep her warm. Griz leaned her head on Tant's right sholder. She knew she had a very good friend in Tantomile, and she was glad.

Jemima looked around the Junkyard. This was sad. Where was the normal fan fare that usually greeted Old Deuteronomy? Where was the joyful chorus, the enthusiastic Jellicles, the hugging kittens? This was all wrong! Jemima added her innocent soprano to the voices already singing and scrambled down from the junk pile, rushing to envelope the Leader in a big hug. Sadly, she was the only one to have even thought to do so yet.
Old D took Munkustrap's arm and allowed himself to be helped into the Yard. He nodded appreciatively at Skimbleshanks and gently patted Jemima on the head, concernedly looking around for a reason why the other Jellicles weren't following suit. As soon as his song was over, he was determined to find out exactly what was going on here.

Alonzo quickly took his place along Munk's side, bowing his head in respect toward Old Deuteronomy.
Pounce bounced a little on the balls of his feet. "Look Bomba! Old D's here! He'll get that nasty Grizabella out of the 'yard and then we'll all be happy again and we can get ready for the ball." He got more and more excited as he sang loudly. He then turned 'puppy eyes' ((not really a cat term, lol)) on the striking red queen. "Will you dance with me?"

Grizabella smiled at Quaxo's trick, and clapped for his success. She giggled a little, but when she did, she again started to cough really bad. Tantomile rubbed Griz's back gantly, anf gave her a little bit more water. Then, Griz spotted Old Deuteronomy. "Tant, I'd like to get up and walk over to Deuteronomy please," she said after she calmed down her coughing. Griz, with the help of Tant, slowly got up. She put her left arm around Tant's sholders, and Tant put her right arm around Griz's waist. She slowly walked over to her brother, and she let go of Tant to bow down to Old Deut. But Griz was very unsteady, and nearly fell down again, but Tant caught Griz before she could fall. Griz stood up as much as she could on both feet, and held on to Tantomile's wrists for support. She cleared her throat, and said, "Hello dear Brother. It's so good to see you again. Tant here is helping me because I'm sick, and I need to get better. I hope you don't mind me being here." She bit her bottum lip, and gave Deut a small smile."Hello Sir," Tant said as she bowed down and greeted Old Deut. She gave him a hug too. She was hoping that Griz could stay, just long enough to get better.Misto hoped that Tugger would start to sing with Munkustrap and all the other's that were there. He also bowed down to him, standing near Tugger, but also walked up to him and hugged him. He looked over at Tantomile and Grizabella. He didn't say a word to Griz, but he had a few words for Tant. "How could you help a cat like her? You know she isn't welcome here and I wont welcome her here eighter. No one wants her here. She needs to just go back to where she was when she got hurt. I don't even want her here."Tantomile couldn't believe what Misto had said to her. She felt very hurt by her best friend. She couldn't believe that Misto didn't want to help her, and that he didn't want her there. "She needs help Misto, and I don't see anyone else making an effort to help her.""Tantomile, she doesn't belong here anymore. She was banned, and I vote she still be banned from the Yard for good."Griz had tears rolling down her face. She started coughing again. Those words hurt both Grizabella and Tantomile. Griz was really unsteady on her feet, and when she started coughing, she couldn't stop, and she started to shiver again, and started to fall down again. Tant caught her again before she could fall. She wanted to stand without Tant's assistance, but couldn't for long. She wanted to move closer to Old Deut. "Please let me stay. I'll be on my way as soon as I'm able." She put her hand on Deut's sholder, hoping that he wouldn't push her away. She was so shaky, that she couldn't stand without holding on to Tant. Tantomile put her right arm around Grizabella's sholders.Misto just rolled his eyes. "I think we should take a vote. I say Grizabella had to leave the Yard within the next hour. Who's with me. I'm sorry Old Deut, but I don't want her here."[glow=green,2,300]Jellylorum came out and she listened to everything that was said, and watched all the Cats around her. She greeted Old Deuteronomy with a hug, and then looked back at Tant and Griz. "I'm sorry Griz, but Mistoffelees is right. You don't belong with us anymore, and Tantomile is the only one that will help you." Jelly took Griz's hands gently into hers. "Please understand our feelings. You shouldn't have come back here. I'm sorry but I just can't help you, not after you left the Yard." She looked at Tant. "Tantomile, I know you want to help, and I know you need my help, but I just can't give it."[/glow] All Tantomile could say at that point was, "I understand." She highly respected Jellylorum, and loved her like a daughter loved her mother. She looked down to the ground, her eyes were tearing up.OOC:I'm adding more to the post. Grizabella's hands were shaky when Jellylorum took them into hers. After Jelly said what she said, Griz nodded, and said, "I know. I'll be alright with Tantomile's help." She gave Jelly a small smile, and Jelly gently put Griz's hands down out of hers. When Jelly released Griz's hands, Griz's left leg started to shake, and give out from standing. She couldn't stand anymore, but she knew she had to, and she wanted so much for Old Deuteronomy to give her his ok to stay in the Yard until she got better. Tant was still beside her, and she still had her right arm around Griz's sholders. She held out her left arm so Griz could take hold of it if she wanted to. Grizabella started coughing and wheezing again really bad, and she was again breathing funny, and not breathing well at all. Tantomile held Grizabella close to her so that she wouldn't fall. The last thing Tant wanted is for Griz to fall down on her bad foot.Grizabella didn't look well, and she didn't feel well eighter.'Grizzy, how's your foot?" Tant asked.'Not well, I'm afraid. I'm getting so tired from standing, but I can't leave this spot until I get permission from Deuteronomy to stay."Are you sure you'll be able to stand up? You're not steady on your left leg right now.'I think so. I think a few days ago, I fell and hurt my left leg. I fixed it up the best I could, but I didn't have much to fix it up with. I think it was only a slight sprain in the knee. I really want to stand.""Alright, you can take my hand when you want to. Do you still want my arm around your sholders?'Yes please."[glow=green,2,300]Jellylorum felt so bad for Grizabella for being so sick. She even hated to see anyone sick, and hurt, and Grizabella was both. Jelly watched Griz for a few minutes. She really didn't look well, and it really bothered Jelly to see Griz so sick, and limping on her right leg, and having something wrong with her left leg too wasn't good. Jelly thought about the time when they were extremely close friends. What she said earlier to Grizabella was so out of her nature. She really wanted to help Grizabella. Now she looked at Tugger, Bomby, Demeter, and Alonzo, and Pouncival, and everyone else around her. Then she turned back to Griz. The only one who was helping Griz out was Tantomile, and Demeter was assisting Tant, which was great. But she really wanted to help her friend out too, but she didn't want to fuss with Tugger, or Misto, or any of the other cats. All the cats looked up to her. Jelly looked at Griz again. "Thank goodness Tantomile is taking care of her," she said to herself. Jelly felt for Griz and wanted so much to go over there to give Griz a hug and welcome her back into the Tribe. Grizabella started coughing really bad again, and Tant gently rubbed Griz's back. Griz couldn't stop coughing. All she wanted was acceptence, and love. But Tantomile and Demeter were the only ones, so far, giving her love and compassion, two of the things she needed. Jelly didn't want to lose anyone's respect, but she wanted to go to Griz and hug her, give her warmth, and nuzzle her lovingly. She saw Grizabella start to falter on her good leg. She knew that there was something wrong with her good leg. It jjust didn't look right. She was in so much pain from her right leg, that she wanted to cry. (Griz) But it looked to Jelly like Griz needed assistance with standing on her left leg. She was falling down again, and with Tantomile rubbing Griz's back, she didn't catch Griz to keep her from falling. But Tant did help Griz back up again. Griz leaned more of her weight on Tant. This made Jelly feel so bad that she just had to go to her friend and gently put her arm around her, and help Tant out with giving her medical attention. Griz was still coughing, and wheezing, and still favoring her left leg, plus her right foot. She couldn't stand up any longer, and Jelly knew it. Griz was going down again. "Alright, respect or no, I'm going to go and tell her that I want her here," Jelly said to herself. Jelly walked slowly towards Tantomile and Grizabella, and Old Deuteronomy, and said, "Old Deut, I also want your permission to have Grizabella here. She can't be out there right now. She needs love and compassion. I want her here." When Griz stopped coughing long enough for a really bit hug, Jelly gave her friend a really big hug. "I didn't mean the words I said earlier. It wasn't like me to say what I said. I want to help Tantomile help you get well again."[/glow] 'Thank you Jellylorum, thank you so much." Griz returned the hug. She then began to cough again, and cry happy tears."Thank you Jelly. This means a lot to me." Tantomile and Jellylorum hugged each other too.[glow=green,2,300]"You're both very welcome. I couldn't stand by and watch you fall, and with you being so sick, you need to be here with a family that loves you, devided or not." Jelly looked at Old Deuteronomy. "I hope you'll still respect me Sir," she said to him.[/glow] Misto knew that accepting Grizabella was the right thing to do, but he wanted to wait for Tugger first. As soon as Tugger accepted her, then he would. He felt bad for Grizabella, and deep down, he wanted to help her, but he didn't want Tugger to lose respect and he didn't want to lose Tugger's friendship. Both Tantomile and Jellylorum had hold of Grizabella, helping her to stand, but she really wanted to stand on her own two feet without assistance. She gently let go of them. She started to cough again, really bad. Her left leg again, began to falter. She was so unsteady trying to stand without assistance. She was trembling and shaking. Tantomile gently rubbed Griz's back for a couple minutes, then after she finished that, she gently put her tight arm around Griz's sholders again. Griz smiled at both Tant and Jelly. Then she started to falter on her left leg again. She really eanted Tantomile to keep her arm around her, and told her so politely. She wanted to stand on her own two paws without help, like all the other Jellicles that were there.Griz had another really bad coughing spell. Tant and Jelly thought that Griz was going to fall down again, so they bothstood closer to her, Tant with her arm around Griz's sholders. Jelly asked, "Did you give Griz some cough medicine?" Tant answered, "Yes I did." Griz calmed down and said, "My left leg really hurts so bad." Jelly said, "We'll have a look at that as soon as Old Deut tells you that you can or can't stay."

Rum Tum Tugger was standing with Mistoffelees and looked around to find Old Deuteronomy. When he spotted Munkustrap with the old Leader, Tugger's ears flattened back against his skull. Pain filled his brown eyes and he sighed, turning his face away from the yard, Tugger started to move away from the Ball. He really didn't want to be there, not after having been put through so much pain. Tantomile just didn't get it, but Alonzo did. "I... I don't know if I'll be able to sing this year..." Tugger managed, his voice cracking a little. Tears filled his eyes and he shut them tightly. He wouldn't let the yard see him cry. Not this Tugger. Grizabella had caused him enough pain; he wasn't even going to call her mother anymore. Munkustrap didn't get it either. When Mistoffelees called for a vote, Tugger's head swiveled back to the action. "Old D, I'm sorry as well, but this Tugger is casting against old Grizz. Nobody really wants her here, except maybe the traitors." A dark look was cast towards Tantomile, and now Jellylorum as the matronly figure took up Grizabella's side. "Nobody should want her back here, not after the pain she caused..." The Maine Coon tom snarled the last part.
Demeter stood next to Munkustrap and Deuteronomy, her eyes flicking around nervously. "B-but Tu-tugger... she's... she's y-your m-m-mother..." Rum Tum Tugger turned his dark look towards the black and gold queen, making her flinch and press against Munkustrap's side. "No-nothing will ch-cha-change that f-fact Tugger..." She said quietly.
Bombalurina looked down at Pouncival with a look of mild disgust on her face. "Tugger's angry because of the pain Grizabella caused him and the fact that old Tant can't seem to get that. Neither does Stripes there..." Rolling her eyes, Bomba snorted. "Nobody really gets Tugger's pain... mostly 'cause Munkus and Tant are the oh-so-forgiving types." Laughing, Bombalurina ran one paw over Pouncival's head. Her eyebrows went up as a smirk of amusement crossed over her beautiful features. "I see that, Pounce, hopefully Deut doesn't take Tant's side in this. Once he says something, everyone has to concent to it. Although, if he says old Griz can stay, I'm leaving!" When Pouncival asked her to dance with him, the smirk turned to a smokey smile. "Of course I will." She purred, rubbing her paw across his jaw and winking. Bombalurina walked into a small clear area and started to move her body to an unheard melody. Slowly, the air started to fill with the sounds of Jellicle Music, the moon shining off scarlet fur. Bombalurina's movements caught alot of eyes, making most around her become silent.
Coricopat was watching the happenings with empty eyes, not wanting to come out of his place in the shadows. Everything held no warmth for him now, not without his connection with his sister. There had never been a time where they had not been connected, but now... What had he done?!? What if he never got his connection back with Tantomile? Closing his sulphur-colored eyes, Cori started to cry silently. The tears ran down his cheeks, but no sound was uttered from the sorrow filled tom.
Plato has also been watching the happenings, growing more and more sad as he watched Tantomile betray the tribe. He was in love with her, but how could he love her when she was bringing sorrow and pain to the tribe? Couldn't she see that Grizabella's presence was tearing the Tribe apart at the seams? Closing his eyes, Plato prayed to the Everlasting Cat that Tantomile wouldn't make a decision that would alter the Tribe's history. "Please... let her see what kinds of sorrows she is causing..." He whispered, opening his eyes and turning them to the rising moon. The light reflected off his white fur, and lit up his tear filled eyes. He was sitting high up on a junkpile, but heard the melodies of Jellicle music. Plato looked down and saw Bombalurina dancing. A ghost of a smile spread across his lips as he watched the beautiful scarlet queen dance.

Pouncival sighed dreamily and turned toward Deut, determination in his eyes. "I know I'm not very old...I don't have the age to back up any kind of wisdom, but how do we know she won't betray our trust again? I mean, she did it once before right? Why wouldn't she do it again? Unless she can swear she won't leave again, which she can't because no one can make a promise like that, then I think she should leave as well." He piped in.
Alonzo looked at the tomkitten and then at Tugger. He nodded. "I'm in agreement with them." He said to Old Deuteronomy. "She's not worth the risk." He said. "She's not worth a thing." He said after a few moments, hopping from his perch beside Munkustrap and going, once more, to Tugger's side. "Some of you may have pity for what's happened to this old queen...but pity does not mean she has the right to return. Your care is better left for someone who actually deserves it."

Cassandra had been watching quietly from the edge of the junkyard. She agreed fully with Alonzo; Grizabella wasn't worth the trouble she had caused. She crossed her fingers. 'Please kick her out, please kick her out!'
Carbucketty was torn. He had watched the sick Grizabella limping and coughing and felt very sorry for her, but he had seen the tears in Tugger's eyes and felt sorry for him too. He didn't want Grizabella to stay after the pain she had caused her kittens, but didn't want her to be kicked out onto the harsh London streets where she would surely die. He looked at Deuteronomy with sad eyes and silently begged for his leader to make the right choice.
Tumblebrutus had never liked Grizabella, but the thought of kicking her out while she was still recovering made him feel ill. He hoped that she would be able to stay, if only for a little while.
Mungojerrie watched Grizabella with a mixture of amusement, hatred and anger. He didn't like the queen one bit. The decision shouldn't be up to how healthy she was; it should be about her personality. The pain she had brought upon the junkyard was unforgivable in his opinion.

After his song had finished, Old Deuteronomy took his stand on the tire and gazed around at the Jellicles, holding his paws up for silence. "There will be no vote here," he said quietly. "This is my Tribe. While I take your opinions too heart, I prefer to make my own judgment here." He fell silent for a moment.
"There are many things that humans are admirable for," he began again suddenly. "One of those things is that humans offer every one of their kind the right to a fair trial. From the innocent to those who have commited cold-blooded murder, each is given his or her turn to have a trial. And so it shall be here. Grizabella the Glamour Cat shall have her Jellicle trial. I will play the part of judge. Rum Tum Tugger and Munkustrap, I want to hear both of your opinions, as well as that of Grizabella herself, and maybe a few of the others on either side. I shall not permit interuptions, speaking out of turn, or blatant fighting. The words 'you don't understand' are not a valid point - if we don't understand, make us understand. Is that clear? Are there any objections?" He set his mouth in a grim, determined line.
Jemima watched from a distance and nodded her head. This was the best course of action, she was sure, even though she didn't have a very good feeling about what was going on. Sighing to herself, Jemima decided to go sit with someone. She went over to Carbucketty. "Hi," she said quietly, settling herself next to him.
George strutted over to Tumblebrutus. "Some Ball, huh?" he whispered.

"Hi," Carbucketty replied to Jemima. He continued to watch Deuteronomy with nervous eyes, biting his lip as he waited for the Jellicles to organise themselves. "Do you think she deserves to stay?" he asked her, hoping to break a bit of the tension in the air.
Tumblebrutus nodded, giving a hollow smile to George. "I've never seen one like it," he said. "I just hope we can get this trail over and done with and continue the ball." Though he said it like such a trail would only take minutes, he knew that nothing of this proportion could be that simple.

OOC: Bear with me.. You all go too far and I don't have the internet at home yet.. I can't get here every day to post either. This is the first chance I've had to get to this board since last month. Not that my characters are really needed since you can all just move on without them.
BIC: Razzy had stood there listening to everything that was going on. She couldn't believe this was happening on what was supposed to be the biggest night of her life. It was at this point she was even wondering if she would even be able to go through with it. Not once in all the years she had known Misto did she think he would ever be that cruel. The only one who had talked to her today was Tantomile and everyone else ignored her.
If she spoke her mind, then there was the possibility of them all throwing her into the same pot that Grizabella was in, but if she continued to stay there and say nothing, then she would continue to feel bad. She looked at Misto with her dark brown eyes. Her eyes said it all. She wanted to become an adult tonight, but she wasn't even sure if she would be able to dance the Invitation which still hadn't been done and none of the other songs that they usually did had been done yet. Now Old Deuteromy has shown up and everyone still seemed occupied with Grizabella. She didn't know what to do. She was lost. None of them seemed to care that it was her turn. All the older adult queens had gone through it when they were her age. They didn't have to worry about anything like this. Razzy felt sad and lost. She sighed and decided to sit in a corner of the Yard not wanting to do much of anything or talk to anyone, not that they had talked to her earlier.
Victoria had been watching the whole thing too. It was finally time she spoke up. "I can't believe what I'm seeing. I don't agree with the fact that Grizabella has come back here asking for forgiveness, but at the same time you all seem more occupied with taking care of her and treating her the way she did to us years ago. Tonght is the biggest night of Razzy's life to become a queen and not one of you has seen her, spoken to her, bothered with her or anything. None of you did this when it was my turn last year nor any of the other queens here who have done it before me. You all cling to the past when you should get over it. Razzy has practiced really hard on the Invitation and no one has called everyone out. Everyone came out because of Grizabella. Munk, Tugger, I know your mother hurt you in the past, but you both have turned out to be best toms you can be. You're both gentletoms and you care about what happens to the members of this Tribe. What kind of Tribe is this that no one seems to care about anyone expcept those who have hurt us in the past? You should all be ashamed of yourselves." Then she looked at Old Deuteronomy and said, "I'm sorry Sir. I'm sorry if I was out of line, but look over in the corner at Razzy. She's really upset. She has worked so hard at her dancing and her singing over the years and I don't think there's anything anyone here can do to make her feel better."
Razzy sat in the corner of the Yard and cried softly, burying her head in her lap. No one cared.

"You are not out of line in the slightest," Old Deuteronomy said kindly to Victoria before anybody else could get a word in edge wise. "In fact, I appreciate that someone your age has shared their opinion on the matter. Now let me address the issue you present - Yes, I am fully aware that tonight is Razzy's turn to dance and I think we've all seen how hard she's been working to get to this night. But you two must understand, this Tribe is currently in a state divided. As much as I think it should, the Ball simply cannot go on with the Yard in its present state, especially when someone's life hangs in the balance as it does. I promise you Razzy, we shall get this trial over as quickly as possible and you will dance tonight, no matter what happens." He smiled wearily but kindly in the direction of the spotted queen. "You have my word as Jellicle Leader. In the mean time, you may sit with me during the trial, if you wish."
"I think she deserves to stay," Jemima answered firmly. "Everyone deserves a second chance. Now it's her turn. What about you? What do you think?" She turned her large eyes to Carbucketty, hesitantly waiting to see if he agreed with her.
"Yeah," George said and then sat and watched Victoria's plea. He snorted to himself when she had finished. "That's pretty selfish of Razzy, don't you think?" he sniggered. George was never particularly kind or understanding, and this was no exception. "I mean the Tribe's falling a part, Tugger and Munkus are seeing their Mum for the first time in ages, Coricopat's dumped Tantomile and all she can think about is her stupid dance?" He sneered in her general direction.
OOC: Sorry Razzy! It's just that I saw George scratch Grizabella in one video, so I never pictured him as a kind cat. I don't really think Razzy's selfish by any means. Blame George! *runs and hides*
